Bitwarden – Browser Extension – Configure PIN

This guide will show you the process of setting up a PIN to access the Bitwarden browser extension.

Please note, this guide is for the Bitwarden browser extension only. You will still be prompted for your master password when accessing the Bitwarden website, it is imperative that you remember this!

Step 1

Open and unlock the Bitwarden browser extension.

Step 2

Once opened go to “Settings”

Step 3

Within “Settings” click “Account security”.

Step 4

Tick the “Unlock with PIN” box.

Step 5

You will then be prompted to input a PIN. Please ensure this is unique and not easy to guess.

Additionally, to stop prompts for your master password, untick the “Require master password on browser restart” box.

Once done, click “Set PIN”.

Step 6

The PIN is now set and you will be able to unlock the Bitwarden browser extension using it.
