Authenticator – Removing Phone/SMS Authentication

This guide will show you the process of removing the Phone/SMS authentication method that has been setup for your account.

This process will apply if you have been advised by the IT team to remove “Phone” authentication.

Step 1:

On a device, such as a laptop or computer, navigate to: https://www.office.com/?auth=2

And sign-in using your work account login.

Step 2:

Once signed into “https://www.office.com/?auth=2”, click the icon on the top right of the screen which shows either your staff photo or your initials.

In the pop-up box that appears, press “View account”.

Step 4:

A new tab will open, showing a brief account overview. From here, press “Security Info”.

Step 5:

Another tab will open showing your sign-in methods. Find the “Phone” authentication method and press “Delete”.

Your accounts Phone authentication has now been deleted.
