Edit in Teams
Opens the file within the Teams app.
Open in browser
Opens the file in a new tab on your internet browser (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, etc.)
Open in app
Opens file in the formats Microsoft application, such as Word or PowerPoint.
Step 1
Within Microsoft Teams, go to a file and left click the three dots that appear when hovering over the file (as highlighted in the image below).
Step 2
In the pop-up menu that appears, got too “Open” and left click “Change default”.
Step 3
You will then be able to change the default application. Once selected, press “Save”.
Teams will now open files in the chosen format.
