This guide will show you the process of encrypting your emails.
Please use the encryption method when sending sensitive information to people outside of the trust.
Outlook
This is a guide on encrypting emails in Outlook, Outlook.com and the Outlook mobile app.
Step 1
When composing the email, go to the “Options” ribbon and left-click the “Encrypt” button.

Step 2
From the drop-down menu, select the “Encypt-Only” option.

Step 3
The email will now be encrypted.
- If the recipient is using an Outlook or Microsoft 365 based email account, they will be able to read and reply to the encrypted email the same way as unencrypted emails.
- If the recipient is using a different email account (such as Google or Yahoo Mail), they will be sent a separate email with a temporary passcode to access the encrypted email.
Outlook (Classic)
This is a guide on encrypting emails in Outlook (Classic)
Step 1
When composing the email, go to the “Options” ribbon and left-click the “Encrypt” button.

From the drop-down menu, select the “Encypt-Only” option.

The email will now be encrypted.

Please note when sending an encrypted email with an attachment, the following pop-up box will appear. Press “OK” for the email to be sent.
